Shamyle Khan
Psychological Associate
Shamyle Rizwan Khan is a clinician, researcher, and facilitator whose work sits at the intersection of psychology, culture, and human meaning. With training and practice spanning Pakistan, the UAE, and Canada, she has been engaged in psychological training and clinical environments since 2012 and in formal clinical practice since 2016. Her experience includes work in hospital and rehabilitation settings, community mental health consultation, and private practice with individuals and professionals across diverse cultural contexts. Shamyle also provides psychoeducational and ADHD assessments, and maintains an active interest in research and scholarship, with scientific publications exploring psychological and social dimensions of the human experience.
She works with adults navigating concerns such as neurodivergence, relational and complex trauma, anxiety, depression, identity and life transitions, immigrant and cross-cultural adjustment, burnout and high-achievement stress, and attachment or relationship difficulties. Many people also come to this work seeking deeper clarity around questions of identity, meaning, and direction, particularly during periods of transition or personal growth.
Therapy with Shamyle is thoughtful, collaborative, and depth-oriented. She creates a space where people can slow down enough to see themselves clearly; untangling long-held patterns, understanding the parts of themselves that have protected or adapted over time, and shaping a narrative that feels more aligned with who they are becoming. Her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-based therapy, and person-centered work within a trauma-informed and neuro-affirming framework. Drawing on storytelling, metaphor, and broader cultural and philosophical traditions, including Islamic and Sufi perspectives when meaningful to the client, her work bridges insight with practical change.
In addition to individual therapy and assessments, Shamyle regularly facilitates group work, workshops, and community conversations that explore mental health, identity, and collective wellbeing.
Shamyle provides services inEnglish and Urdu.
